Hope Lutheran's youth and family ministry works to pass the faith on to the next generation through personal, trusting, and cross-generational relationships.

Through authentic, affirming, and available relationships, we work to equip households, parents, and individuals to live a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ and to share the Christian faith with all generations.
Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children ages 3 (by September 1) through 6th grade from September through April.

Classes begin immediately following the 8:30 a.m. worship service and conclude at 10:10 a.m.  On Mileston days, children and their parents/caregivers will go to Sunday School together to experience and celebrate their child's Milestone.

Hope Lutheran uses the Spark Sunday School curriculum. Spark is designed to fit all the different ways kids learn and empowers kids to interact and engage with the Bible. All children explore the same Bible story each week, yet each age level focuses on the story in an age appropriate way.  On Sundays, children will learn and hear the same story that will be heard in worship.

Trail Blazers

Trail Blazers is offered for children in kindergarten through third grade (k-3) from
September through April on Wednesday evenings.

Classes are held on Wednesday nights from 5:45 pm and conclude at 6:25 pm.  On
Milestone days, children and their parents/caregivers will go to Trailblazers together to experience and celebrate their child's Milestone.

The Spark Sunday School curriculum is also used for Trail Blazers, but on Wednesday, children will learn and explore Biblical stories from Genesis thru Revelations.

Spirit Works (Confirmation)

Having our identity rooted in Christ, Spirit Works equips and empowers 7th and 8th graders
to affirm who it is that they belong to.  Spirit Works is led by Pastor Randy Olson and Aaron
"Sturgie" Sturgis.  We meet at varying times throughout the year (September through April)
and participate in a wider range of activities.

Spirit Works is not about making sure the kids have the church "stuff" memorized, rather,
Spirit Works is about belonging, living out our identity, and living a life of discipleship that
God has intended for us.  We do this through small group teaching time, large group teaching time, meeting in homes, meeting at Beaver Creek, active learning activities, service projects, community involvement, worship participation, and by Taking Faith Home and practicing faith in our own homes.

Spirit Works culminates at Confirmation Sunday in which each 9th grade student will affirm their Baptisms before a committed and affirming worshiping community.  The celebration of 9th grade confirmation is held in the fall on the third Sunday of October.
Please contact Ann Miloszewicz, Program Secretary at 715-832-1414, ext. 16 or email her at office@hopelutheraneauclaire.com with any questions regarding our education program.
Faith Journeys (4th, 5th, & 6th)

Faith Journeys continues for form the foundation of faith for children through Old Testament stories, New Testament stories, and what it means to be a Lutheran.

Faith Journeys is offered for children in 4th through 6th grade from September through April on Wednesday evenings. Classes are held from 5:45 pm and conclude at 6:25 pm.  On Milestone days, children and their parents/caregivers will go to Faith Journeys together to experience and celebrate their child's Milestone.

Faith Journeys utilizes a three year curriculum called "Here We Stand."  The curriculum is divided into three distinct sections and is designed to fit all the different ways kids learn.  The three year rotation is as follows:

4th Grade will learn and explore the stories of the Old Testament.

5th Grade will experience Christ's life, death, and resurrection and what it means to live a life centered in Christ through the stories and teachings of the New Testament.

6th Grade will learn what it means to be a Christian today through the lens of Lutheran teachings and understanding.  They will wrestle with the question - "What does it mean to be a Lutheran?"
